Ukulele Classes

January and February ukulele classes are now open for registration! Holiday Songs class is sold out. 


What could be more fun than learning how to play ukulele in the relaxing environment of a pub? How about a great date night or evening out with friends? What about a fun and interactive parent + tween/teen activity?

Adult Beginner Levels 1 and 2 are each four-week sessions that will take you through the basics of strumming chords and making music. You’ll have 5-7 songs under your belt by the end of each session. These classes run 2-3 times each year. Youth aged 11 – 13 are welcome to sign up for this class along with a registered adult, as well.

Location: Fionn MacCool’s Pub at Stone Road and Edinburgh (Guelph).  Pre-registration required. *Must bring your own ukulele. You may purchase beverages and snacks while we play but please drink responsibly.

Have you already taken the Beginner classes but want more? OR Do you already have some basic ukulele understanding but want to learn some more songs?

Kick It Ups will help you build skills and repertoire over 4 weeks and you’ll walk away with 5-7 songs to have in your repertoire. Kick It Up classes may be offered a few times throughout the year and each time will be different so you can sign up for any of them and they’ll always offer you something new. 

It’s a great way to keep working on your playing, add to your personal songbook, plus get out to make some music in a relaxed atmosphere!

Do you play chords on your ukulele but want to learn how to pick individual notes and melodies? Do you want to learn to read notes on the musical staff and learn to decipher the language of musical notation? This 8-week class will help you get started reading notes on your ukulele in a gentle and fun way. We use the Ukulele in the Classroom Level 1 book in this class.

You won’t want to miss these one-night-only ukulele classes where the focus is on a specific decade, genre or artist. It’s an hour of fun strumming in the relaxed setting of a pub and you’ll walk away with four new songs to add to your repertoire.

The Royal City Ukulele Ensemble program runs over approximately 10 months (September through June) during which you’ll learn a range of repertoire and develop musical skills as part of an adult ukulele group. Learn more about this fun and challenging ensemble program.  This program fills up quickly each year so stay tuned!
