RCUE’s School ‘Ukulele Initiative

In the spirit of encouraging music making and learning for the next generation, the Royal City Ukulele Ensemble (RCUE) uses all funds collected from our community performances (fees/stipends/honorariums) and events to gift instruments and resources to Guelph-area elementary schools. We have now been able to provide full class sets of 30 quality Ohana ‘ukuleles plus teaching resources, including digital Ukulele in the Classroom method books and a year-long subscription to Ukulele in the Classroom Teacher Toolkit, to five schools in our district. Each individual school donation is valued at over $4000. The ensemble additionally provides a short performance for the recipient schools and a teacher workshop to help support schools in getting ‘ukulele programs, curriculum integrations, or clubs off the ground.

If you’d like to book the RCUE to perform at your event (where any fees we receive go towards this project), please get in touch below. Thank you!
